Dry Eye

At Fitzsimons Opticians we are privileged to be able to offer some of the newest and most advanced In-Practice Dry Eye Treatments.

As well as the more common OTC (over-the-counter) management plans, we offer a few different options for those suffering from eyelid inflammation, eyelash crusting, red eyes and other dry eye symptoms.

OTC plans can work very well but for those who have found them to be less effective or who are unable to keep up the regime every single day or every few days, these in-practice treatments usually only need repeating every few months.

Your Appointment will include a detailed examination of the front of the eye and eye lids using specialist cameras and microscopes to determine the nature of the dry eyes, as there can be multiple different causes.  We have a few different treatments designed to reduce eyelid inflammation and redness, unblock and revive the vital meibomium glands and remove the build up of scales from the eyelashes allowing the tears to work to their maximum potential.
